Manufacturing - Production Optimizer, Glass Division

Blue Star Glass is seeking a quick on your feet thinking candidate who is eager to learn and join a rapidly growing team.

The Production Optimizer of our Glass Fabrication business will be working directly under the supervision of the Plant Manager as a direct support for day-to-day operations.

The Production Optimizer will:

Directly assist Senior Operating Managers with various production related tasks as required

  • Work under tight deadlines and help maintain smooth flow of operations
  • Work directly with facility production teams
  • Work with Order intake, Engineering, Design and Manufacturing teams regarding cost, scheduling for multiple projects daily
  • Optimize and enter glass production orders and send orders to production floor
  • Use glass production optimization software to ensure maximum usage of glass
  • Prevent unneeded production waste
  • Accurately balance production loads for the manufacturing department
  • Monitor and report on any production delays/issues
  • Maintain and monitor glass/materials inventory continually to ensure no production delays
  • Provide feedback to Senior Management on process solutions
  • Support production floor teams on an as needed basis and notify Plant Manager immediately of any delays/issues as they arise
  • Maximize glass usage


  • Associates Degree preferred but not required
  • Data analysis experience preferred but not required
  • Manufacturing/production planning/optimization experience preferred but not required
  • Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel)
  • Technologically inclined: ability to quickly pick up and learn new optimization and computer software
  • Experience with data entry
  • Organized
  • Ability to manage time properly
  • Self starter
  • Fast learner
  • Critical thinking
